How To Get To Hermit Village Elden Ring
If you want to get some of the best items available in Elden Ring, then you will want to go to Hermit Village.
There is a chance that you have heard of this location from characters in the game or from friends who have played it, but you do not know where to find it. If this is your situation, keep reading to find out how to get to Hermit Village in Elden Ring.
You probably know that there are a few settlements and villages you can visit while playing Elden Ring. Some of these settlements are much more intact than others, and unfortunately, Hermit Village is one of the less attractive places you can visit.
However, you should not let the appearance of this location fool you. This is because you can find plenty of useful items and upgrades in this location, especially if you use Sorceries for your character.
To give a general direction, Hermit Village can be found deep in Mount Gelmir. However, you can only get to it once you have followed an incredibly winding and long path that goes through the deep canyon in this mountain. There are plenty of obstacles that you will run into on this journey, one of which is a Runebear to watch out for.
What Can You Find In Hermit Village In Elden Ring?
So, as you can tell, getting to Hermit Village is quite a task in Elden Ring, so what is the motivation to go there? As we referenced in the introduction, you cannot miss Hermit Village if you are playing as a Sorcerer, and this is because of the amazing Sorcery gear you can find when you get to this village. This alone makes the whole trip worth it.
Just past Hermit Village, you will find Master Sorcerer Azur, and he is a character who is quite important to Sellen’s main quest line, so if this is something you are following, going here is also going to be important to you.
But the main reason you will want to visit Azur is that he can give the playable character a very powerful spell. This is called Comet Azur. If you have this spell, you will be able to cast a beam, which will damage your enemies, however, at the cost of a lot of your FP.
As well as Azur, you will also find the Errant Sorcerer at Hermit Village and the Hierodas Glintsone Crown, which is found hidden behind one of the shacks in Hermit Village. You can also beat one of the close world bosses, which is called the Demihuman Queen Maggie. By defeating this boss, you will be able to get a Memory Stone.
There are reasons to go here even if you do not play Sorcery in Elden Ring. For example, you can also find the fan-favorite character Prattling Pate. Of course, like any location in Elden Ring, you can find some consumable items here, for example, runes and crafting materials too. These are worth getting, but they are nothing compared to the unique items you can find here.
How Do You Get To Hermit Village In Elden Ring?
The best place to start if you want to get to Hermit Village is to go further back within the Atlus Plateau. The best place to start here is Wyndham Catacombs or Seethewater River’s Site of Grace.
Hopefully, you will have the map of Mount Gelmir unlocked, as this will make working out your journey a lot easier for you. If you look at this map, you will see a ravine that goes around the Volcano Manor on both the east and the north sides.
You will want to be following this ravine north and then move west. You want to do this until you witness Fort Laiedd and the Site of Grace, which is past the mouth of this ravine.
Once you know you are at this point, you know that you will want to keep heading west, and then if you go south, you will get to the Magma Wyrm world boss. There are two options when you get to this point. You can either try and defeat the Magma Wyrm, which will be more or less of a challenge depending on how well-prepared you are.
Or you could instead ride Torrent around the boss to get past it. At this point, you will find Hermit’s Shack. This is not Hermit Village. However, it does mean that you are quite close.
Once you have gotten to Hermit’s Shack, you will want to head east and do this to go under the rocky overpass. This will lead you to the Craftsman’s Shack Site of Grace.
Once you get here, you will want to make sure you keep an eye out for the Runebear. This Runebear will seemingly come out of nowhere before you get to the overpass.
You can avoid it if you are prepared, but if not, you will likely have to defeat it. Once you have reached the Grace, you will want to follow the path from there in a northwestern direction, and once you get to the end of this path, you will have found Hermit Village!
It is worth reiterating that if you are going to Hermit Village to find Azur, he is not actually right in the village, but he is actually around the corner, which you find by the rock bridge which will lead you north.
Summary
So, if you are playing Sorcery in Elden Ring, and you want to get equipment, and spells that will make you a lot more powerful, then you should not skip Hermit Village. While the journey to get there is quite arduous, once you have overcome it, the rewards will be worth it!
