How To Get Blaidd Armor In Elden Ring
Elden Ring is a game that has countless armor sets and unique weapons for you to collect, wear, and make use of.
Although many players consider armor sets to be cosmetic, some have powerful benefits, and some look much cooler than others!
One of the coolest-looking armor sets in the game belongs to the character Blaidd—everyone’s favorite half-wolf, half-man warrior. But how exactly do you get Blaidd’s armor set in Elden Ring? How difficult is it to get as a set?
If you’re wondering about these questions, don’t worry! You’ve come to the right place.
In this article, we’re going to take you through everything you’ll need to know about how to get blaidd’s armor, including how you can do this and some tips for how you can make the process easier.
We’ve also included some additional information about Blaidd, Ranni the Witch, and the quest line that leads you to them.
Who Is Blaidd In Elden Ring?
Blaidd is a non-player character (NPC) in FromSoftware’s award-winning open-world action role-playing game, Elden Ring. He is half man and half wolf and can be found in multiple locations throughout the game.
You first encounter him in the Mistwood Ruins, where you can begin his quest line. Blaidd is the sworn guardian of Ranni the Witch, who you encounter early in the game, and is one of the most important demi-god characters in the lore.
Blaidd can be thought of as devout and loyal, with impressive fighting abilities.
You can summon Blaidd to help you in the fight against Bloodhound Knight Darriwill, who you encounter at the Forlorn Hound Evergaol, and again during the festival where you fight Starscourge Radan.
One of the things that makes Blaidd a fan favorite is his cool character design.
Blaidd sports a gigantic, two-handed greatsword and a set of wolf-pelt armor reminiscent of certain characters from George R.R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones.
This leads many players to wonder if they are able to get ahold of his armor and weapons. If you’re one of these people, then you should know that the good news is you can!
The bad news, however, is that you will have to go through a long and arduous questline to get there—and eventually defeat Blaidd himself!
Completing Ranni’s Questline
Ranni the Witch’s questline sets you on the path to eventually fight Blaidd and recover his armor.
Ranni’s questline is long and arduous and involves first meeting her at her tower in Liurnia of the Lakes, defeating Starscourge Radan, following the resulting meteor impact, and eventually defeating the optional boss Astel, Naturalborn of the Void.
Once you complete these quest steps, you can return to Ranni’s Rise in Liurnia to find Blaidd at the bottom of the tower.
From here, you will notice that the once proud and friendly Blaidd has turned into a crazed version of himself. If you get too close to him, he will instantly become hostile and try to fight you.
Defeating Blaidd
So Blaidd is hostile, and you’re now ready to fight him. From here, you’ll need to engage him in combat and kill him. Depending on the level of your character—as well as your build—Blaidd can be a tough fight.
He’s extremely fast, and his greatsword will do a lot of damage should you get caught in its path.
Elden Ring is a game that offers you many different choices within combat, so there’s no one direct way to defeat Blaidd. Some players may find he simply rolls over, while others may find that he is a long and difficult fight that takes them multiple tries.
Defeating Blaidd As A Mage: If you’re a mage, you can keep Blaidd at range, and time your spells to defeat him. The most important thing here is to make sure you don’t let him close the distance between you.
Unfortunately, Blaidd is good at dashing, and he will make sure to get close to you. Some mage players choose to use the inside of Ranni’s Tower as a way to keep their distance—but just know that you can be trapped here if you are not careful.
Defeating Blaidd As A Melee Fighter: If you prefer to fight monsters in Elden Ring head-on, then you’ll need to make sure that you are making the most of the stagger mechanic.
Blaidd is able to be staggered, but to do this, you will need to use a heavy weapon and make sure that you hit him consistently. If you are able to stagger Blaidd, you can use this opportunity to do big damage to him.
Obtaining The Armor
Once Blaidd is dead, you will be able to equip his armor. Blaidd’s armor comes in three pieces:
- Blaidd’s Armor
- Blaidd’s Gauntlets
- Blaidd’s Greaves
Equip all of these pieces, and you will (almost) look exactly like Blaidd. There will be one missing piece, however, and that is the Black Wolf Mask.
Thankfully, this is an easier piece to obtain than the other three, and you can find it at the top of the wall behind Seluvis’s Rise.
This is the other tower to the south of Ranni’s. Once you find the mask, you can equip it, and you’ll find your character’s head covered by a wolf mask that looks very much like Blaidd.
