How To Do Homework Sims 4
Across multiple games, the Sims series has become a more accurate depiction of real life. Whether taking on a new career and working your way up the ranks, spending hard-earned money on unexpected toilet leaks, or building your dream house and starting a family, the Sims video games mimic all the highs and lows that the real world brings.
One of those real-life tasks is homework.
We’ve all spent loads of time doing homework as we worked our way through school, and things are no different for young Sims characters – as they complete homework assignments from the first years of school up to the last years of university.
But how do you do homework in The Sims 4?
We’ve got the answers! In our handy guide below, we’ll explain how your young Sims can do their homework, whether they’re a child or teenager in school or a young adult in University. On top of that, we’ve got tips on how to make their homework process easier and more enjoyable. Read on!
How Do Children Do Homework In The Sims 4?
We’re starting at the youngest level by looking at how you can complete young children’s homework in The Sims 4.
To start with, you’ll need to send your child off to school first. Once they come to the school day’s end, look inside their inventory, and you’ll find an orange book – this is their homework book. If you can’t find the homework book, you can always purchase it through your bookcase.
Click on the book and select the option to “Do homework”. Your young Sim will need to sit down somewhere and begin to do their homework continually until completion – unless they are interrupted.
Doing Children’s Homework Quicker
However, there are a few ways to make the homework process go a lot quicker, allowing your Sim to go and do other (admittedly more fun!) activities.
One of these ways is to level up all four of the young Sim children’s skills to Level 3. Though this may take time, it’ll save a lot of time, too, because they’ll be able to breeze through their homework in no time. And it goes further! Level those skills up to Level 7, and the child will do the homework more quickly.
Alternatively, you can get the adult Sim characters to help the child with homework. They always say that two brains are better than one, which is proof! The homework will be done a lot quicker.
How Do Teens Do Homework In The Sims 4?
Once your Sim child grows up a little bit, they’ll soon find themselves having to complete homework as a teenager.
Doing homework works the same way as it does for children. Once your teenager returns home from school, they’ll also need to complete their homework before returning to school the next day.
As a result, they open their inventory and look for a blue book. That’s right. It’s changed color! Select it as you did before and make them do the homework.
Doing Teen’s Homework Quicker
As with the children’s homework, there are ways that you can get your teen Sim to do the work a lot quicker than normal, saving you time and allowing them to go and do more enjoyable activities.
The key one this time is getting an adult Sim to help. When controlling that Sim, click on the teen working on homework and select the option that allows the adult to assist them.
How Do You Do Homework At University In The Sims 4?
Of course, the next step after school is the university, the last and most advanced place where your Sims will have to do homework. Now, to have your Sims even go to university in the first place, you’ll need to purchase the “Discover University” expansion pack for The Sims 4.
Getting homework done works differently here, which is understandable because university requires much more effort than school. On top of that, you will have to select which classes you’re doing the homework for.
To start, open your university-going Sim’s inventory and look for a black-and-white book. Once again, the color of the homework book has changed, so you need to know what to look out for! However, when you click on it this time, it will ask you what class you’re doing the homework for.
To pass your classes with top grades, you’ll need to regularly do the correct homework for the correct class before the next one happens. Make sure you keep on top of the work and spend the time letting your Sims do each class’ work.
You can stop and start the homework repeatedly, fitting it around your schedule.
Doing University Homework Quicker
You can get specific traits and skills to do your university homework more quickly. For one, get the “Study Spot” trait, and it’ll give a skill-building boost to all of your skills. On top of that, level up the “Research and Debate” skill, and your Sim will complete the work in no time.
How To Complete School Projects In The Sims 4
If you have the “Parenthood” expansion pack, your Sims might also get school projects. These are great for improving their school grades – as long as you do them!
To do them, select the projects from their inventory. You can either do them carefully and slowly or sloppily and quickly. It’s better to do it carefully because you can still speed it up by getting other Sims to assist in them – without sacrificing the quality of the work.
