How To Get To The Consecrated Snowfield In Elden Ring

Spread the love

As you get to the later stages of Elden Ring, you’ll find that there are several hidden/hard-to-reach areas.

These contain some of the most difficult bosses in the game and some of the most impressive weapons, armor, and items.

If you’re trying to progress to some of these, then you’ve likely heard of the Consecrated Snowfield in one way or another.

It is one of the most important end-game regions in Elden Ring and one that you’ll have to brave if you want to see everything the game offers. But how do you get to the Consecrated Snowfield? This is something a lot of players have struggled with, so you’re not alone!

In this article, we’re going to give you a comprehensive breakdown of this area. How to get there, why it’s important, and some of the most vital things to do when you get there.

How Do I Get To The Consecrated Snowfield?

The Consecrated Snowfield is one of the most isolated areas of the game and is only accessible through a singular path.

It is one of the lower plains of the Mountaintops of the Giants (the game’s dedicated snowy area), and to get there. You’ll need to use the Grand Lift of Rold.

But here’s the catch—to get the lift to take you to the Consecrated Snowfield, you’ll need to find two halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, combine them, and use them to unlock the area.

How Do I Find The Haligtree Secret Medallion?

The Haligtree Secret Medallion is split into two halves. To get to the Consecrated Snowfield, you’ll need to have them both in your inventory.

Unfortunately, the halves are in two very different places that can be difficult to stumble across without a guide.

In the two sections below, we’ll explain how you can find each half, so make sure you read carefully and follow our steps.

Right Half

To find the right half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, you’re going to need to go to the Village of the Albinaurics.

This is a region in Liurnia of the Lakes, and there’s a big chance that you’ve already been there by this point in the game. Double-check your map to see if you already have the sight of grace, then fast-travel to the location.

From here, you’ll need to go up the cliff face to your right and stick to the right until you see a strangely placed jar. It will stick out to you because it’s placed rather randomly.

All you need to do from here is hit the jar to reveal an inside NPC. He will give you the right half of the Haligtree Secret Medallion if you speak to him.

Left Half

The left half is a little trickier, but a trial you’ll need to pass to get to some of the most difficult content Elden Ring has to offer.

First, make your way through the Lakeside Crystal Cave, which is also the situation in Liurnia of the Lakes. You’ll be able to find it in the southwestern corner of the map.

You must go through the dungeon and defeat the mini-boss, then continue down the path, and you’ll find a small shack.

Providing you have the right half of the medallion, you can speak to an NPC named Latenna, who sits curled up with a wolf.

She will tell you that the left half of the medallion can be found at Castle Sol. It’s important to speak to her before you head there because you’ll be able to use her as a spirit in the upcoming fight.

From here, you need to travel to Castle Sol, that’s on the Mountaintop of the Giants. You can find the castle north of the Freezing Lake Sight of Grace.

After traversing through a graveyard, you’ll be able to drop down and head east to Castle Sol. You can go through the main entrance here and begin your battle through the castle to find the boss.

The boss of this castle is Commander Niall, who is a fairly controversial boss. Depending on your build and how well you know the game, you’ll find him more difficult or easy than other bosses you’ve encountered.

We won’t go into a full boss guide for Commander Niall, but once you defeat him, all you have to do is follow the path ahead, and you’ll be able to find the left half of the medallion.

Getting To The Consecrated Snowfield

From here, all you need to do is go to the Grand Lift of Rold and use the Medallion at the base to unlock this next area.

There will be two options if you already have the other medallion that takes you to the Mountaintops of the Giants, and you need to switch to the ‘hoist secret medallion’ option to move forward.

What Does The Consecrated Snowfield Let Me Access?

There are many different options when you get to the Consecrated Snowfield and two paths that will take you to some of the most difficult bosses in the game.

To Get To Haligtree And Malenia

Malenia is one of the most notorious bosses in the game, and if you want to face her, you’ll need to travel across the river and reach Ordina, Liturgical Town.

After solving a puzzle, you’ll be granted access to the Haligtree, an entirely new area.

To Get To Mohg, Lord Of Blood

To get to Mohgwyn Palace to face this boss, you can use a waygate in the western part of the Consecrated Snowfield. It is guarded by some vicious enemies, so make sure you run fast or prepare to face them.
